At 84-year-old, Bonnie Segna is known for her daily walks, active spirit, and love of spending time with her family. Maintaining her health and independence has always been important to Bonnie. Yet two unexpected and serious injuries challenged her resilience and led her on a months-long journey to recovery. 

The first injury occurred while Bonnie was riding her bike. A pedal scraped her lower leg, creating a wound that initially seemed manageable. Over time, however, the wound became infected and began to threaten her overall health.
