Arterial Ulcers

At Jovive Wound Care, our team of board-certified experts focuses on delivering advanced healthcare solutions for persistent wounds such as Arterial Ulcers.

What are Arterial Ulcers?

Arterial wounds often refered to as arterial ulcers are found on the lower leg or foot. They are deep wounds that resist healing due to inadequate blood flow. Oxygen deprivation leads to tissue death, complicating the healing process.

What to look for

Arterial wounds, commonly found on the lower limbs, stem from poor circulation, particularly prevalent in areas like the outer ankle, heel, or between toes. They are very painful. Characterized by distinct colors such as black, grey, brown, or yellow, these wounds typically don’t bleed. Observable changes include limb discoloration upon elevation or dangling, accompanied by other symptoms like absence of hair growth, coldness to touch, diminished pulse, and a shiny, thin, dry appearance of skin and nails.

Regularly inspecting your legs or seeking assistance is essential to catch any emerging wounds early. Early detection is key to preventing long-term damage. Prompt intervention and preventative measures are vital for managing and avoiding these debilitating wounds. If you’re concerned about an open wound, don’t hesitate to contact o Jovive Wound Care  for immediate assistance.
